Project Overview

This project focused on designing and delivering a comprehensive motion graphics system for the Brawl Stars World Finals 2021, the most prestigious event in the competitive Brawl Stars calendar. With over 50 fully animated deliverables, the objective was to create a cohesive and high-impact visual language that could perform seamlessly across live broadcasts, LED screens, overlays, and lower-thirds. The system was built to support clarity, energy, and consistency throughout the event while reflecting the scale and prestige of a tournament with over one million dollars in prize money.

Working closely with the event and brand teams, we established a clear visual direction rooted in a gold and purple palette to signify championship status and elevate the broadcast experience. Each asset category—full-screen graphics, overlays, and lower-thirds—was designed as part of a unified motion system, ensuring consistency while allowing each element to function independently within fast-paced live production environments. From early concept development to final delivery, every phase prioritized performance, adaptability, and precision, resulting in a broadcast-ready graphics package built to operate reliably at a global stage.

Visual System in Motion

Once the visual direction was established, we moved into the design and execution phases, focusing on building a motion-led system capable of performing across live broadcasts and on-site LED environments. The creative process began with visual exploration inspired by comic-book action and high-energy motion, drawing references such as Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse to define rhythm, color, and visual intensity. This direction informed a bold gold and purple palette, chosen to reflect the prestige and competitive scale of the World Finals. From there, we developed a comprehensive suite of fully animated assets—ranging from full-screen graphics to overlays and lower-thirds—designed as part of a unified visual system. Each element was carefully crafted to maintain consistency while remaining flexible for rapid live-production use. Motion, typography, and compositional rules were refined to ensure clarity, impact, and legibility across all formats, creating an immersive broadcast experience that felt cohesive, dynamic, and unmistakably championship-level.

Audience Engagement

With audiences viewing the World Finals across live streams, large-scale LED screens, and digital platforms, all motion assets were designed to perform reliably across multiple formats and resolutions. The system emphasized clarity, legibility, and visual impact in fast-paced live environments, ensuring key information remained readable throughout the broadcast. On the final day alone, the broadcast reached over 1,000,000 viewers worldwide, reinforcing the importance of a cohesive, dependable motion system operating at scale. The result was a polished, championship-level visual experience that elevated the event and supported audience engagement at the highest level of competition.
